Job Description

The Opportunity

As one of the world’s leading enterprise AI platforms, with more than 85% of the Fortune 500 as customers, how ServiceNow imagines and builds for the future of work matters. We are seeking an experienced technology futurist to join our Innovation Office and help lead ServiceNow Futures, the foresight and futures intelligence function that powers our forward-looking narrative, and contribute to building the ServiceNow AI Institute, our executive-level community for leaders navigating AI business reinvention.

This is a first-of-its-kind role. ServiceNow Futures exists to help customers navigate the complexities and opportunities shaping AI business reinvention. The AI Institute takes that mission further by delivering a 5-product program, Futures Reports, AI Council, Signals, Frameworks & Playbooks, and AI Transformation Workshops, built exclusively for C-suite leaders, their teams, and their strategic advisors. As Futures Director, you will be a research-driven strategic advisor and communicator operating across three interconnected pillars: understanding the future, translating it for customers and ServiceNow executives, and helping bring it to life on the platform.

Responsibilities:
 

Develop and execute a futures research program for ServiceNow Futures and the AI Institute, internal leadership, and AI Institute content and operational needs.

Develop and maintain an editorial calendar that flows from the research program, Institute priorities, and ServiceNow Futures milestones.

Conduct primary and secondary research on trends across technology, industry verticals (manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, and beyond), and executive personas.

Manage multi-stakeholder foresight research from environmental scanning through scenario and strategy development.

Deliver P5 Signals, bespoke foresight intelligence reports for senior ServiceNow leadership (P5 and their leadership teams), and expand reach to new executive stakeholders.

Contribute to the Enterprise 203-2033 Vision: a collective view of the agentic enterprise that fast-forwards ServiceNow’s Blueprint for Agentic Business narrative.

Develop 2030 Industry Visions through structured executive interviews and peer research, creating future-state views of key verticals informed by customer and industry perspectives.

AI Institute Program Delivery

Support AI Council development: recruit, interview, facilitate, and nurture a peer community of senior executives who shape the Institute’s research agenda and contribute thought leadership.

Develop and deliver masterclasses and webinars: professionally produced learning experiences that scale strategic AI fluency across executive teams.

Build Frameworks & Playbooks: practical tools that move executive teams from AI strategy to execution, grounded in Institute research and real-world leadership insight.

Feed research, interview transcripts, and customer insights into Institute programming across all seven products.

Design and facilitate executive-level Wwutives lead AI business innovation efforts.

Thought Leadership & Publishing

Author and produce Research Reports: future-forward, peer-driven analyses and in-depth studies on AI adoption, transformation economics, and organizational readiness for C-suite audiences.

Author and publish thought leadership content for the ServiceNow Futures Hub and industry publications

Serve as an external spokesperson for ServiceNow Futures through speaking engagements, media, and PR opportunities.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

Present to internal teams and customers to inform strategic decisions about business strategy, technology direction, and resource investment.

Deliver futures presentations and workshops in EBCs, customer meetings, and executive programming.

Conduct executive interviews and customer insight research that feeds both Futures narratives and AI Institute content.

Collaborate with marketing, GTM, and field teams to amplify thought leadership through events, webinars, content vehicles, and media.

Team Building & Internal GTM

Lead internal Stakeholder Tours: present the unified ServiceNow Futures value proposition to sales, GTM, industries, field marketing, and PR leaders across geos.

Build and maintain personal and team mailing lists that keep key contacts engaged with Futures assets, wins, presentations, and press.

Coordinate and network across key ServiceNow teams: WFDS, NowNext, AI Foundry, Ventures, SNU, and Rise-Up.

Guide and mentor Innovation Officers, Innovation Engineers, and colleagues in futures and scenario planning methodologies.

Contribute to quarterly reporting that demonstrates ServiceNow Futures as a strategic growth engine.

Contribute to the development of internal frameworks, methodologies, and the internal customer journey for engaging the Futures team.

Qualifications

A naturally creative and visionary mindset, comfortable challenging orthodoxies and fluent in the socio-technical dynamics of technology and business.

A disciplined, human-centered researcher and formally trained practitioner of strategic foresight and futures methodologies: STEEP-informed trend and driver analysis, forecasting, participatory research, systems mapping, scenario planning and development, backcasting, and exploratory exercises such as wind tunneling.

A compelling writer, presenter, and storyteller who distills complexity into meaningful insights and strategies for C-suite executives, innovation leaders, and customers.

A disciplined leader grounded by experience driving agendas and change within large organizations, able to articulate the value of strategic foresight to skeptical stakeholders.

A highly collaborative and approachable style, able to work across personas, geographies, and the technical/non-technical spectrum.

Energized by building new organizational capabilities and excited to leverage ServiceNow’s platform and market position in service of making the world work better for everyone.
